When contacting technical support, please have the following
information available so our application engineer will be able to
assist you quicker:
- Company and contact information (phone & email)
- SolidWorks version and service pack
- SolidWorks serial number
- Video card manufacturer andmodel
- Video card driver and version
- Hardware / OS information (i.e. RAM, OS version & type,
network type etc.)
- An accurate, complete description of the issue. Send screen
shots and notes for specific comments. MS Paint can be used to
capture and annotate and image. Use ALT-PrntScrn and paste the
results into a paint program.
- If you notice any systematic pattern, suggest it to the
technician. It might give him a clue. "It always happens on
assembly mates". "It only happens when I use my space pilot"
etc.
In addition, the technician may need:
- The data files that are causing the problems. Remember that
sending a drawing or assembly isn't enough. You must send the part
file.
- The performance and SolidWorks log files. If you have these,
send them also

using SolidWorks Rx.
