When contacting technical support if you have the following information
handy our application engineer will be able to assist you quicker.
Company and contact (phone and e-mail) information
SolidWorks version and service pack
COSMOS version and service pack
An accurate, complete description of the question or issue.
Send screen shots and notes for specific comments. Microsoft
Paint can be used to capture and annotate an image. Use Alt-Print
Screen and paste the results into a paint program.
Mesh type and parameters used. We will have to re-mesh the
files here after receipt, since mesh data is not stored in the
Part/Assembly files.
In addition, the support engineer may need:
The data files that are causing the problems. Remember that
sending a drawing or an assembly isn't enough. You must also
send the parts. These files should be zipped to save space.
The performance and SolidWorks log files can also help provide
debug information to tech support. If you have these, send them
along also.
Note: All of this information can be easily
captured using SolidWorks Rx.
