AFTER COMPLETING SECTION III, PLEASE E-MAIL YOUR CAD MODEL TO
3dprint@prismeng.com

Model
Format: The model
format is the CAD format of the part you send to
Prism Engineering
for 3D Printing. The desired format is native SolidWorks
however essentially any solid format may be accepted.
Formats are
listed in the pull-down menu in order of preference. NOTE
- If you provide an STL file, the resolution of the
file when
it was created by your system will dictate the facet size
of your model. If you are unsure as to what type
of file you
should provide, or how to export the file, please contact
Prism Engineering's 3D Printing Service Bureau department
at 215-784-0800 or tjuliano@prismeng.com.
Please keep in mind that the default tolerance for the STL
file provided by your solids modeling system may not be
adequate
to produce your desired results.
Model
Interior Style:
We can produce parts in three "styles"; Solid, Solid
- Double-wide and Sparse. Solid will reproduce your exact
model in ABS plastic, providing mass every place your solid
model has mass. Solid Double-wide will produce a solid interior
and also provide maximum width rasters for faster, strong
parts. A Sparse model will be hollow inside, except perhaps
for necessary supporting ribs to maintain the model's look
and feel. This type of model will be least expensive due to
even shorter build times and less material required. The model
itself, however, will not have the strength it would have
as a solid or even semi-hollow part. This type of model is
ideal for castings because less material will burn off faster
than solid parts.
Desired Finish: You
have three choices for your desired finish; Elite, Standard
and Draft.
Slices produced by the 3D Printer are as follows:
The Elite finish slices are .007" high.
The Standard finish slices are .010" high.
In Draft mode finish slices are .013" high.
Depending upon the finish selected, build time will be vary accordingly. As a
rule of thumb the Elite finish will take approximately twice the build time as
a the draft finish. At this time there are no color choices available for the
Elite finish. If parts have walls, less then .040" in thickness, then the
Elite Finish must be selected.
Method of providing file to Prism Engineering:
E-mail is the most desired method. Otherwise, files may arrive
on CD. Your file should be sent at the approximate time when
you submit this form so our technical staff can prepare to
enter your model into our work queue and provide you with
accurate feedback as to when your part would be completed.
Specify "show" side:
If a specific side of your model will
be the most critical side, in terms of appearance, please
make that information known in this text box so our 3D Printing
team can work to produce the best possible results for your
needs. Leave this section blank if there isn't a "show" side.
Date Required: This
is the date you need to have the completed part(s) back at
your facility.
Quantity Required: This is
the quantity of this part number that you want printed. If
you omit this field, one is assumed.
THANK
YOU FOR YOUR REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. A FORMAL QUOTATION WILL
BE FORWARDED TO THE E-MAIL ADDRESS SHOWN IN SECTION I. PLEASE
DO NOT FORGET TO CLICK THE "SUBMIT FOR 3D PRINTING QUOTE"
BUTTON SHOWN ABOVE.
