Basic 2D Design Creates a simple 2D wireframe using basic geometry, and in the process introduces AutoCursor, Visual Cues, chaining, changing entity attributes, transform, and trim.

Basic 3D Machining Focuses on applying several milling toolpaths to parts previously designed in Mastercam. Provides a general overview of selected toolpath options and parameters to illustrate possible solutions for machining parts using 3D toolpaths, primarily with surfacing operations. Roughing, semi-finishing, and finishing operations are created. Detail work, such as drilling and adding lettering, are also shown.
Introduction to Multiaxis Toolpaths Introduces the concepts of multiaxis machining, from machine architecture through toolpath creation. Explore the Multiaxis interface while creating basic Curve and Drill Multiaxis toolpaths. Includes sample metric parts.
Dynamic Milling Review the 2D Dynamic Milling toolpath options within Mastercam. Learn about chain selection, dynamic toolpath parameters, and contrast the results with standard 2D toolpaths.

Focus Tutorials

Creating Setup Sheets with ActiveReports Designer Introduction to setup sheet customization with ActiveReports Designer. In this tutorial, the user creates a custom template and assigns it to a Mastercam setup sheet. Topics include formatting, adding data, subreports, electronic bookmarks, and template assignment. Requires Mastercam X5 MU1.
Lathe Plunge Turn Toolpaths Teaches how to set up stock and create four types of Lathe Plunge Turn toolpaths. Includes exercises for OD, Face, ID, and Angled Plunge Turn toolpaths. Each lesson teaches how to create custom metric tooling that mirrors ISCAR-specific tooling, which allows for flexibility when turning, yet maintaining a square shoulder when plunging. This tutorial also covers toolpath verification, backplotting, and posting.
Machine Simulation Provides an overview of workflow and benefits of Mastercam machine simulation. Includes exercises that illustrate the machine simulation workflow, simulate both 3-axis and multiaxis toolpaths, and analyze toolpath motion on a simulated machine tool.
Using Views, Planes and WCS Describes how to use views, planes, and WCS for basic machining applications, such as work offsets and tombstoning.
